Russian filmmaker Pavel Chukhrai started shooting a new movie, a love story that happened in the USSR during tests of the first hydrogen bomb, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing Director General of PROFIT producer company Igor Tolstunov. “The script is based on the real historic event that happened in Kazakhstan in 1953. Famous actors acting in the movie include Sergei Garmash, Chulpan Khamatova, Ingeborga Dapkunaite and Maria Golubkina,” Tolstunov said. In the movie a young guy starts working as an assistant cameraman and thinks he is very lucky to be sent to Semipalatinsk with a movie production team. There he meets his first love. The girl accidentally finds out that he will be instructed to shoot the first testing of hydrogen bomb. According to Tolstunov, major part of the shooting process will take place in Kazakhstan. “The production team has reconstructed a military polygon in the Kazakh steppe and made a model of a tower used to lift the bomb and its further explosion,” he added. The budget of the movie is 400 million rubles ($13.6 million). The movie is made in partnership with Kazakhfilm and will be on screens in 2015.
