New 1000-seat concert hall will be constructed in Almaty

New 1000-seat concert hall will be constructed in Alatau district of Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kairat Kulbayev, head of City’s Culture department. According to him a new culture site will be constructed in Almaty for the first time in 20 years. Kulbayev also said that besides the concert hall a multiplex cinema might be built as a part of the complex. The building will be constructed with the use of modern technologies. All the projects are being worked out at present. Funds required for the project will be estimated soon. “We’ll do all our best to start the project this year. It will depends on many things, you know that the construction is a difficult task,” the head of the department said. Earlier it was reported that Akhmetzhan Yessimov, Akim (Mayor) of Almaty city declared the year 2012 the Year of Culture at the annual meeting with Almaty citizens. Many city’s historical monuments and buildings will be reconstructed in the framework of the Year of Culture program.
