Italian opera singer Maria Mudryak from Kazakhstan will perform in Almaty and Astana in May. The concerts are timed to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Tengrinews reports.
“Currently, the Mayor’s offices (akimat) in Astana and Almaty are considering my charity concert Wartime Songs with a choir and orchestra dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory Day. Entrance will be free of charge,” Mudryak wrote in her Facebook profile. According to her, Almaty’s city administration have already given their approval.
Speaking about the importance of this date to her personally she said: “I love this holiday and it is very especial to me. Both two grandfathers Nikolai Mudryak and Henry Markevich went through the war.”
Maria Mudryak is very famous in Europe, but she performed in Astana Opera House for the first time only this December. She signed an agreement with Astana Opera for a year. Therefore, it will not be the last time the KazakhstanI audience enjoys the performance of 20-year-old diva.
Maria Mudryak was born in Pavlodar in northern Kazakhstan, but has been living in Milan, Italy since the age of 10.
Maria’s signing career started at the age of 5 when she recorded her solo album and was named the youngest singer in the world by the Guinness Book. At the age of 10, she was accepted into the La Scala academy as an exception.
At the age of 14, while studying at the academy, she was allowed to get enrolled in the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan.
The young singer was named the best opera singer of Italy in 2011 at the National Competition in Italy.
She won a Bolashak education scholarship in Kazakhstan and a year later, she graduated from the Milan Conservatory as the youngest student to complete the whole course. This year, she got her master’s degree in music from the Milan Music Academy.
Maria's professional debut was when she was 19. She played maid Suzanna in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at the Carlo Felice Theater in Genoa.
Her second role was that of singer Musetta in Giacomo Puccini’s La Boheme at the Rosetum Theater in Milan.
Later, she played step-sister Clorinda in Gioachino Rossini’s Cinderella at The Salzburg Festival.
She also starred as Juliette in Jacques Offenbach’s The Tales of Hoffmann that was staged in five opera houses of Italy.
In early October of last year, she performed the leading role in famous Gaetano Donizetti’s opera The Elixir of Love at the Piacenza Theater in Piacenza, Italy.
