Kazakhstan Minister of Culture Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed
Kazakhstan Minister of Culture Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed told about the progress of Kazakhstan cinema at the Government meeting today, July 26, Tengrinews.kz reports.
“I can absolutely surely say that there was no such raise of Kazakhstan cinema either during all the years of independence or during the whole period of Kazakhfilm existence. 10 full-length movies will be screened in 2011. 4 more full-length and 9 short movies will be released by the end of the year,” the Minister said.
According to Kul-Mukhammed, 20 documentaries about memorials of history and culture have already hit the screens. Another 20 documentaries about activities of the President and Kazakhstan’s outstanding people are in process of shooting. Presentation of a 25-episode animation movie called Kazak Eli (Kazakh people) is scheduled for November.
“A digital library of all Kazakhfilm’s movies is being created. Kyz Zhibek movie has been digitized. Nash Milyi Doctor (Our Dear Doctor) is being digitized and it will be followed by Menya Zovut Kozha (My Name is Kozha),” Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed said.
According to the Minister, over 20 Kazakhstan movies have been released in the past three years. First time in the history Kazakhfilm it has signed a contract with 60 movie theaters. In the last 2 years 40 Kazakhstan movies took part in 27 film festivals in 22 countries.
