Famous Kazakh prima ballerina of Hungarian State Opera House Alia Tanykpayeva and Etoile of the Hungarian National Ballet, principal dancer of the Hungarian State Opera Zoltan Olah will perform in Astana Opera on April 1, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of the theater.
They will dance the immortal ballet of Pyotr Tchaikovsky Swan Lake. The two artists noted it was a great honour for them to dance on the top stage of the Kazakh capital.
Swan Lake is one of our favorite ballets from the classical repertoire. The fairy tale with an interesting plot has become a truly global phenomenon and a masterpiece of classical music," the artists of the Hungarian ballet shared.
Astana Opera will stage a production of the Honored Artists of Kazakhstan Tursynbek Nurkaliyev and Baliya Buribayeva. Costumes and scenery were created by Italian masters Ezio Frigerio and Oscar winner Franca Squarciapino.
Decorations for the ballet were made using modern technology – the massive structures disappear and then reappear on stage in seconds. 3D-effects creating a feeling of the lake about to spill directly into the auditorium is an exclusive of the Astana Opera production.
Aliya Tanykpayeva, a Kazakh ballet dancer used to be the leading soloist of the State Academic Dance Theatre of Kazakhstan in 1999-2001, then of the Imperial Russian Ballet in 2001-2005, the Wiener Staatsoper in 2005-2009, and the Opernhaus Zürich in 2009-2011.
Since 2012, she is the leading soloist of the Hungarian State Opera House, in the season of 2013/2014 she became the étoile of the ballet company.
Zoltan Olah is the Principal of the Hungarian State Opera House. He has danced with various companies in Germany, Austria, Spain, the UK, the USA and Japan. Since 2001, he is the soloist of the Hungarian State Opera House. Étoile of the Hungarian National Ballet of the seasons of 2012/2013 and 2014/2015.
