Animation movie The Brave became the leader of North American box office by earning $24.5 million, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Hollywoodreporter.com. The cartoon’s earnings made $66 million this weekend. Madagascar 3 got ranked second by drawing $20.7 million on June 22 and beating Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter at box office. Timur Bekmambetov’s movie managed to earn only $6.3 million on Friday, June 22 and $17 million on the weekend. The filmmakers hoped that the $68 million Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter directed by Kazakhstan-born Timur Bekmambetov would draw at least $20 million in its first weekend. However the earnings happened to be lower because of the marginal C+ rating that was given to the movie. (The movies with C+ rating can be fun and have some redeeming value, but typically lack the content to make up an entire film.) Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter produced by Tim Burton was released on June 21. American actor Benjamin Walker appeared in the film as a leading character who waged war on vampires who were attempting to rule the United States. It is expected that the movie will open this year's Astana Action Film Festival on June 30.
