Tengrinews.kz – Kazakhstani citizens have noticed an increase in fuel prices at city gas stations. In response, the Ministry of Energy explained the situation in the country's fuel market.
According to the Ministry, official gasoline prices in Kazakhstan remain among the lowest in the CIS countries.
"The wholesale price of AI-92 gasoline in Kazakhstan is 263,000 tenge per ton (retail price – 233 tenge per liter). In comparison, in Russia, this figure reaches 510,000 tenge per ton (retail price – 401 tenge per liter), in Kyrgyzstan – 326,000 tenge (retail price – 434 tenge per liter), and in Uzbekistan – 339,000 tenge per ton (retail price – 499 tenge per liter)," the Ministry reported.
A similar situation is observed with diesel fuel: in Kazakhstan – 341,000 tenge per ton (retail price – 329 tenge per liter), while in Russia – 497,000 tenge (retail price – 478 tenge per liter), in Kyrgyzstan – 380,000 tenge (retail price – 472 tenge per liter), and in Uzbekistan – 397,000 tenge (retail price – 513 tenge per liter).
At present, the average price of AI-92 gasoline in Kazakhstan ranges from 210-235 tenge. Despite the price increase, fuel prices in Kazakhstan remain significantly lower than in neighboring countries. According to Numbeo, the average price of gasoline in Russia is 400 tenge per liter, in Kyrgyzstan – 440 tenge, in Uzbekistan – 550 tenge, in Azerbaijan – 360 tenge, and in Armenia – 730 tenge.
Additionally, the Ministry reported that on Tuesday, the Anti-Fraud Ministry (AFM) briefed the government on stopping the illegal export of oil products worth 17 billion tenge.
It is worth noting that in 2025, Kazakhstan’s fuel market gained attention due to issues with the quality of gasoline and diesel fuel. A quarter of Kazakhstan's fuel samples failed the quality check.
