A new design of car plates has been approved in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Road Police Commission of Kazakhstan Interior Ministry. “Kazakhstan Interior Ministry’s decree No.400 dated July 16, 2012 approves the state registration number plates for vehicles. On August 13 this decree was registered in the Registrar of the State Registration of Regulatory and Legal Acts by Kazakhstan Justice Ministry,” the press-service writes. According to the Road Police Commission, the new number plate will be issued as old ones wear out. “There will be no compulsory replacement of old plates with new ones. New plates will be issued as part of registration or re-registration of vehicles. Old plates will be used until their full wear. Besides, the existing car plate issue fee will remain the same,” the press-service notes. Road Police Commission presented the new state registration plates and driver’s licenses in June 2012.
