Navigator from United Arab Emirates (UAE) Khalid Ahmad Bilal Abdulla Alkendi will drive with Kazakhstan driver from Astana team Arthur Ardavichus in the Silk Way rally, Tengrinews.kz reports. “This is a very experienced and titled navigator. He is ex-World Champion and Champion of the Persian Gulf. The Silk Way will be our first joint tournament, after which we will decide whether we work together in future or not. We will speak English to each other during the rally,” Ardavichus said. Kazakh-Arab crew will take part in the Silk Way on KamAZ truck supplied by the Russian team KAMAZ-Master. Alkendi has never participated in the trucks rally. His last jeep tournament was Dakar this year. He and the driver Abdulla Alheraiz were 41st in the rally, 35 minutes behind the winners. Besides, Ardavichus’ crew, Astana will be represented by two jeeps: Nissan Pathfinder and ISUZU D-MAX. They will be driven by Dmitry Filonets and Andrey Cherednikov. Denis Berezovskiy and Yevgeniy Kuznetsov will be their navigators, correspondingly. The famous rally will start on July 9 at the Red Square in Moscow. This year participants of the Silk Way will cover 4,126 km in Russia. The route lies though Lipetsk, Volgograd, Astrakhan, Stavropol and Maikop and finishes in Sochi on July 16.
