Tengrinews.kz - Bishkek City Hall has proposed a new measure to combat traffic congestion, as reported by the Telegram channel 'Koroche'.

In Kyrgyzstan, state registration number plates include information on the region of registration, vehicle type and individual number. The first two letters indicate the region of registration of the vehicle. The four-digit numerical code is unique for each vehicle. Also on each licence plate there are digits, which are the code designation of the region where the car was registered.

According to the new proposal, if the last digits of your licence plate number end in:

  • 1 and 2: No driving in Bishkek and Osh every Monday
  • 3 and 4: No driving every Tuesday
  • 5 and 6: No driving every Wednesday
  • 7 and 8: No driving every Thursday
  • 9 and 0: No driving every Friday

Violations of these restrictions will result in fines: individuals will be fined 1,000 soms (5,594 tenge, 11,82 USD), and legal entities will be fined 5,000 soms (27,973 tenge, 59,10 USD).
