Tengrinews.kz – The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, the tallest bridge in the world, will officially open to traffic on Sunday, September 28, citing CGTN.
Located in Guizhou Province in southwest China, the bridge stretches 2,890 meters in length with a main span of 1,420 meters. Its deck rises 625 meters above the river, making it both the highest and the longest bridge ever built in a mountainous area.
Construction began in early 2022, overcoming the natural barrier of the Huajiang Grand Canyon. Engineers relied on China’s BeiDou satellite navigation system, drones, Building Information Modeling (BIM), advanced monitoring tools, ultra-strong materials, and innovative technologies to achieve millimeter-level precision while working hundreds of meters above the canyon floor.

Once operational, the bridge will slash travel time across the canyon from two hours to just two minutes, dramatically improving regional connectivity.
