Starting Thursday, many trains in Kyushu will be halted, and similar measures may be implemented in Honshu until Sunday.

Postal and courier services in the Kyushu region have also been suspended, and supermarkets and other stores plan to close earlier than usual. It is forecasted that up to 600 millimeters of rainfall could occur in southern Kyushu within 24 hours.

Residents of Japan are closely monitoring the situation and preparing for possible consequences of the approaching typhoon.

Previously, thousands of people in Japan were ordered to evacuate, and hundreds of flights and trains were canceled as Typhoon Ampil approached Tokyo.
