Kazakh painter became “Golden Winner” at exhibit in Chile

25-year old Kazakh artist Anara Abzhanova became “Golden Winner” at the exhibition in Santiago (Chile) held from 30th November till 6 December, KazTAG reports. “This was a top level contest, the selection was very tough, with many contenders, the Latin school of fine arts is positioned high these days. It is an honor for Kazakhstan that Anara Abzhanova won the grand prize,” Arystanbek Mukhamediuly, rector of Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, said. According to the painter herself, she sent five of her works to the completion for the Art Curated Award over the Internet, and one of her works won the 1st prize. Later Abzhanova was invited to Santiago to attend the group exhibition, where she became the “Golden Winner.” Additionally, she was also offered to take part in the international exhibit in London to be held in May-June 2012. Abzhanova is deaf from childhood, her early interest in painting however determined her life path. She drew her first painting at the age of 7. Today Abzhanova is a 5-th year student at the fine arts school of Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Zhurgenov. At 25 she became a world known artist. Her works are kept in private collections in Kazakhstan, Italy, Switzerland, France, Turkey, USA, Japan, Hungary and Russia. The young painter has over 1000 works in her archive. At present Abzhanova is working on a new series of paintings for the exhibition to be held on March 5, 2012 in Astana. Abzhanova is the silver medal winner of the international exhibition ParaArt Tokyo (Japan), she also holds the grand prize and the golden coin depicting the Islamic Republic of Iran awarded at the 16th International youth festival of the fine arts in Gorgon, and she is the holder of the 1st place at the international exhibition-contest of Russia’s Week of Art in Moscow. “I wish to show what Kazakhstan is capable of to the entire world. My sacred dream is to become famous worldwide,” Abzhanova shared her feelings.
