Kazakhstani political analyst and blogger Bakhytzhan Bukharbayev has presented his debut art exhibition in Almaty, Tengrinews reports.
The Omir Shenberi (Circle of Life) exhibition consists of 20 art pieces. The exhibition is open till the end of January at the Belyi Royal gallery.
Although most of the works are oil paintings, there are some watercolour works and pencil sketches. Bukharbayev explores various themes – from symbolism to modernist regionalism - in his works. The author touches upon various social issues.
“Drawing has been my passion ever since I, as a child, took a pencil in my hand for the first time. Later I started working with oil paints. When I was in school I dreamed of being an artists. But it happened that I was enrolled in a different program and started working in analytics. That is why painting for me is a hobby rather than a profession. But being an artist is a permanent state of being,” Bukharbayev said.
The artist was inspired by the everyday life and people around him. “I paint the moments in life that grasp my attention and keep me observing longer than other. Some people would have walked past, but I am attracted to ordinary scenes that start me thinking. Life in itself is the best inspiration. Besides, I am interested in the psychology of human relations,” Bukharbayev explained.
The Belyi Royal art gallery is situated on 150/230 Turgut Ozal street, near Abai avenue.
