Bulat Ayukhanov’s State Academic Dance Theatre is presenting the Greatness and Triumph of the Russian Ballet concert on February 5, Tengrinews reports.
The concert will take place at Nataliya Sats’ Youth Threatre in Almaty and being at 6:30 pm. The concert includes the premier of the one-part ballet Mephistopheles based on Goethe’s Faust. Diyar Akenev, winner of various international competitions, will perform the main part in the ballet.
Scenes from Swan Lake, Gisselle, Sleeping Beauty, Le Corsaire, Don Quixote and Bolero orchestrated by Maurice Ravel will be presented at the concert.
Bulat Ayukhanov, 76, Kazakh ballet dancer, choreographer and ballet-master established the State Academic Dance Theater in 2003. based on the theater that started as the Young Ballet Alma-Ata in 1967. Ayukhanov, known as the greatest Kazakh ballet dancer, staged over 30 productions to the music of Kazakhstani composers.
The Dance Threatre does not have a traditional corps de ballet. Each artist has his or her own repertoire which allows the choreographer to expand the horizons of the ballet genres. The main program of the dance company is composed of narrative based choreographic productions. The repertoire is created in accordance with stylistic and artistic qualities of the dancers.
The Youth Theatre of Nataliya Sats is situated on 22 Shalyapin street (crossing of Altynsarin street) in Almaty.
