Tengrinews.kz - The police have announced the preliminary cause of the horrific accident that resulted in the deaths of five children and three men.

A criminal case has been opened by the police in Aktobe Region in connection with a severe accident. The investigation is being conducted under the charge of "Violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of two or more people." The preliminary cause of the accident has been identified.

"According to preliminary data, the driver of the truck veered into oncoming traffic. The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Additionally, an investigation has been initiated regarding the failure to fulfill duties related to ensuring the safety of children, which led to the negligent death of a minor. A legal assessment will be conducted for all responsible parties. All necessary expert examinations have been appointed," the Aktobe Region Police Department reported.

The accident occurred on 7 August at the 862nd kilometer of the Samara - Shymkent motorway in the Aktobe region. The minivan, which contained eight people including three men and five children, crashed, resulting in all passengers and the driver being killed on the spot. Among the deceased were two brothers traveling with their father.

Another fatal accident occurred on the same road on the night of August 8, involving a collision between a truck and a passenger car. The crash happened near the village of Bekkul Baba. Five people were in the minivan, with two of them reported dead.
