Tengrinews.kz – The 60th presidential election has begun in the United States, with the first votes traditionally cast by the residents of Dixville Notch, a small town in New Hampshire, according to Fox News.

Six residents of this small town came to the polling station at exactly midnight. Since 1960, Dixville Notch has traditionally been the first to open the voting process in the country.

The results were evenly split between the two candidates: after counting, three votes were cast for Donald Trump and three for Kamala Harris. The election results here are typically finalized within minutes – by around 12:10 a.m. local time, all the results had already been announced.

It’s interesting that some Americans consider voting in New Hampshire to be a symbolic predictor of election outcomes.

In the upcoming election, Americans will decide not only on a new president but also a vice president, 468 members of Congress, governors in 11 states, as well as representatives in local government bodies.

Representing the Democratic Party are the current Vice President Kamala Harris, who is running for president, and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. Their main opponents will be the Republicans, led by former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator James David Vance.

Let us recall that earlier, Kazakhstani political analysts discussed how the U.S. elections might impact Kazakhstan. Read more in the article.
