Tengrinews.kz - Winner of the US presidential election Donald Trump wants to organize talks between Russia and Ukraine on the first day of his new presidential term, according to ABC News.

Earlier, Trump promised that he would be able to achieve a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict through negotiations. He has repeatedly stated that he would be able to resolve the conflict in Ukraine in one day.

Trump's press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Trump would now be able to "negotiate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine." She later said: "It includes, on Day 1, bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table to end this war."

It was previously reported that Trump had called Putin and discussed the war in Ukraine. However, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later denied this information.

"This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is now sometimes published even in fairly respected publications. This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction. This is simply false information," he told reporters, answering a relevant question.

Meanwhile, the media has compiled a list of Trump’s campaign promises:

  • Begin mass deportations of migrants;
  • End the Biden administration’s education policies that protect transgender students from discrimination in schools;
  • Reorganize the federal government by firing federal employees he believes are secretly working against him;
  • Pardon people arrested for participating in the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol;
  • Drop most of the criminal cases that were brought against him;
  • Impose tariffs on imported goods, especially from China;
  • End climate policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions that are warming the planet.

When he took office in 2017, he had a long list, too, including an immediate renegotiation of trade deals, deportation of migrants, and measures to root out government corruption.

Kazakh economists have assessed the consequences of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election for the global economy, oil prices, inflation, and Kazakhstan's trade with its main partners.
