The newspaper cites a document from the US Customs and Border Protection, which was obtained by the publication.
"President Donald Trump is preparing to send around 10 000 troops to the southern border, where they will support Border Patrol agents under new orders to shut off access to the asylum," the newspaper writes.
According to the publication, there are currently 2500 soldiers and marines on the border with Mexico, who were stationed there under the Biden administration.
On his first day back in power in the US, Donald Trump signed a decree to resume construction of the wall on the border with Mexico and restore the "Remain in Mexico" program, and also announced the recognition of drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. To strengthen border control, he ordered troops to be sent to the southern border.
