Tengrinews.kz - US President-elect Donald Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social about the need to include Greenland in the US.
Initially, Trump wrote on his page that he had chosen Ken Howery for the post of US Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark.
"Ken is a world-renowned entrepreneur, investor, and public servant, who served our Nation brilliantly during my First Term as U.S. Ambassador to Sweden, where he led efforts to increase Defense, Security, and Economic Cooperation between our Countries," he said.
At the same time, Trump noted that Ken, as a co-founder of PayPal and the venture fund Founders Fund, "turned American Innovation and Tech leadership into Global success stories, and that experience will be invaluable in representing us abroad" when representing US interests abroad.
"For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity," Trump emphasized.
It should be noted that in 2019, the media reported that Trump was considering the possibility of purchasing Greenland. He later confirmed that he was interested in this issue "strategically." At the same time, Greenland stated that the island was not for sale, while Denmark expressed hope that Trump was joking, calling the very idea of a sale absurd.

Earlier, Trump renewed his offer to consider allowing Canada to join the United States as the 51st state. He said such a move could significantly reduce Canadians' spending on taxes and military protection.
