Tengrinews.kz – U.S. President Donald Trump has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. This was reported by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, citing RBC.

According to Leavitt, the diagnosis was made after a medical examination prompted by media photos showing the 78-year-old Trump with swollen ankles and bruises on his arm.

Doctors explained that the condition is caused by malfunctioning venous valves, which leads to impaired blood flow from the legs back to the heart. However, Leavitt noted that no signs of deep vein thrombosis or arterial pathology were found in Trump.

“This is a common condition, especially in people over 70. The President is in excellent physical shape,” the press secretary emphasized.

As for the bruises on his arms, Leavitt said they were the result of “frequent handshakes” and a side effect of aspirin, which Trump takes as a preventive measure to support heart and vascular health.
