Tengrinews.kz – The elected U.S. President, Donald Trump, has appointed the youngest White House press secretary in U.S. history.
The position will be held by 27-year-old Karoline Leavitt, the press secretary for his election campaign. The politician announced this on his social media platform, Trump Social. According to Trump, Leavitt did a "phenomenal job" during his campaign.
"Karoline is smart, tough, and has proven to be a highly effective communicator. I have the utmost confidence she will excel at the podium, and help deliver our message to the American People as we Make America Great Again," the statement reads.
As a result, Leavitt became the youngest representative of the White House in U.S. history. The previous record was held by Ron Ziegler, who was 29 when he took the role during former President Richard Nixon's administration.
The elected U.S. President has made a series of appointments to key positions in his administration and government. Billionaire Elon Musk and businessman and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will head the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.
Former TV host Pete Hegseth has been named Defense Secretary.
