Tengrinews.kz – U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in an interview with Fox News, stated that Vice President J.D. Vance could become a possible Republican candidate and successor to Donald Trump in the 2028 presidential elections.
“I hope he truly intends to do this,” Rubio said.
He emphasized that he and Vance are close friends and added that, in his opinion, the vice president is doing an excellent job in his role.
“I think J.D. Vance would be a great candidate. If he decides he wants it,” Rubio noted.
In May, Trump suggested that J.D. Vance could run for president after his departure, calling him a “brilliant guy.”
Earlier, Trump also stated that he did not rule out the possibility of running for a third term but admitted that such a move would “undermine democratic foundations.” However, he later claimed that he had no plans to run for the U.S. presidency a third time.
