Tengrinews.kz – Legendary Italian actress Claudia Cardinale has died at the age of 87.

One of the most iconic figures of 20th-century Italian cinema, she passed away surrounded by family near Paris, where she had lived in recent years.

In 2011, Los Angeles Times included Cardinale in its list of the 50 most beautiful women in film history.

Claudia Cardinale (born Claude Josephine Rose Cardinale) was born and raised in Tunisia to a family of Italian immigrants. Her native language was French. She made her film debut in 1958 with a minor role in Mario Monicelli’s Big Deal on Madonna Street.

Throughout her career, she appeared in over 100 films, including Luchino Visconti’s Rocco and His Brothers, Federico Fellini’s 8½, Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in the West, and Henri Verneuil’s The Mother and 588 Rue Paradis. Her final film role was in Ella Lemhagen’s All Roads Lead to Rome (2015).

Cardinale worked alongside renowned actors such as Marcello Mastroianni, Marlon Brando, Alain Delon, Brigitte Bardot, and many others.
