Tengrinews.kz - China sent a new group of satellites into space on Tuesday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province, according to Xinhua.

According to the agency's report, the PIESAT-2 series spacecraft were launched by the Long March-2D launch vehicle at 02:50 AM Beijing Time (Monday, 11:50 PM Astana time) from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in northern China.

The launch marks the 553rd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.

This achievement was made possible by the efforts of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

Previously, China successfully tested a small inflatable module in orbit during the recent Shijian-19 mission, the Chinese Academy of Space Technology (CAST) reported. The Shijian-19 satellite, designed to return to Earth, was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on September 27 and safely landed on October 10 at the Dongfeng site in the Gobi Desert.
