Tengrinews.kz – A passenger Boeing of the Russian airline Pobeda, flying from Dubai to Moscow, issued a distress signal while flying over the Caspian Sea, RIA Novosti reports, citing the airline's statement.

According to emergency services, the aircraft that sent the distress signal successfully landed in Astrakhan. There were no casualties.

Later, the low-cost carrier's press service stated that the plane made an emergency landing at Astrakhan Airport due to a false alarm.

"The aircraft operating flight DP992 from Dubai to Moscow landed at the alternate airport in Astrakhan due to a false activation of a system sensor. The pilots landed the plane in normal mode," the airline said.

According to an airport representative, passengers were accommodated inside the terminal building.

"On January 29, 2025, flight DP992, en route from Dubai to Moscow, made an emergency landing at Astrakhan Airport at 7:16 p.m. local time due to technical reasons. Passengers were accommodated in the terminal building, and airline representatives are assisting them in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations," the airport stated.
