Tengrinews.kz – Three women in France have been charged with conspiracy to commit crimes against individuals and have been placed in pre-trial detention, according to Deutsche Welle.
According to the report, BFMTV announced this on Saturday, November 8, citing information from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT).
PNAT stated that a judicial investigation into the “creation of a terrorist criminal association with the aim of preparing crimes against individuals” began on October 10. The specific details of the alleged criminal plans have not been disclosed.
“The plot was uncovered in the autumn,” confirmed a source close to the investigation, cited by AFP.
According to BFMTV’s sources, the detained women are around 20 years old.
Le Parisien writes that the young women discussed attack plans online, mentioning firearms and a suicide belt. They reportedly named a concert hall and a bar in Paris as potential targets.
According to AFP, the investigation into the alleged terrorist threat is linked to Salah Abdeslam, the only surviving participant in the series of terrorist attacks carried out in the French capital on November 13, 2015.
