Nicolas Sarkozy, the President of France, congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on his re-election as Kazakhstan President, Akorda website reports. The French President noted that the elections demonstrated Kazakhstan President's commitment to the values of the OSCE that Kazakhstan successfully presided over last year. Sarkozy supported Nazarbayev's plan for reforms. He also said that the relations between the two countries should be further strengthened and wished luck to Kazakhstan in its chairmanship in the Organization of the Islamic Conference this year. Sarkozy noted that he will support a new agreement on enhanced partnership between Kazakhstan and the European Union. US embassy's employees have also congratulated Nazarbayev saying that they are looking forward to work with him and Kazakhstan's citizens on implementation of the large-scale strategic partnership. President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich, Chinese leader Hu Jintao and President of Russia Dmitriy Medvedev have also sent their congratulations to Nursultan Nazarbayev.
