Presidential elections are over in most of the country’s regions. Vice Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced start of the vote count, Tengrinews.kz reports. Given the time difference, residents of the West Kazakhstan oblast, Mangistau, Aktyubinsk and Atyrau regions have another hour to cast their vote. In all the other country’s regions it is already 8 p.m., which is the official closing time. “Members of local election commissions are to start counting votes shortly (...) Counting should not take more than 12 hours starting from the time the count begins at any given polling station”, Vladimir Foos said. As of 6:30 p.m. Astana time, voters turnout stood at 84%, i.e. 7 709 159 people.
