Gani Kasymov promises 30% of Parliament seats to women

Presidential candidate Senator Gani Kasymov promises that in case of victory he will make sure that 30% of the seats in the Parliament are held by women. He made this promise as part of his election platform he presented in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz correspondent reports. Gender policies are among Kasymov’s top priorities: “I will take steps to ensure protection of families, give women a right to retire at the age of 55 and will work towards increasing the number of women in the parliament,” he said. Senator Gani Kasymov also plans to focus on the problems of people with disabilities and war veterans. He promises to exempt war veterans and disabled from payment for utility and housing maintenance services, grant them free medical care and free traffic passes and provide them with social packages.
