Tengrinews.kz - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken assured NATO that President Joe Biden's administration will strengthen its support for Ukraine in the coming months, ahead of Donald Trump’s potential return to the White House.

Speaking at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Blinken emphasized the administration’s commitment to bolstering Kyiv during his meetings with NATO allies and Ukrainian officials.

He also issued a warning regarding North Korea's reported decision to send troops to support Russian forces in combat, stating that such actions "will require and receive a firm response," without elaborating further.

Blinken highlighted that Biden intends to use every remaining day of his presidency to reinforce the North Atlantic Alliance.

The report notes that Trump has criticized Biden’s administration for providing tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine, promising to swiftly end the conflict. However, some of Ukraine's allies fear that a hasty resolution could play into the Kremlin's hands. Biden’s term ends on January 20, 2025.

Blinken is expected to meet later with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha. He will also hold talks with NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher Cavoli, senior EU officials, and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy.

U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan recently revealed that Biden and Trump will meet at the White House on Wednesday to discuss key domestic and foreign policy priorities. The war in Ukraine is expected to be a central topic, along with the situation in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
