HBO has compiled the best moments of Gennady Golovkin’s professional career, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. The 32 y.o. WBA Super, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion from Kazakhstan debuted on HBO on September 1, 2012 against Grzegorz Proksa from Poland.
On HBO, Triple G defeated Gabriel Rosado (7th round), Matthew Macklin (3), Curtis Stevens (8), Daniel Geale (3) and Marco Antionio Rubio (2). The Golovkin-Stevens fight was in the top 3 fights in 2013, while the Golovkin-Geale fight was included in the top 10 fights according to HBO.
Meanwhile, Golovkin is preparing for the upcoming fight against Martin Murray in Monaco, Monte Carlo on February 21.
“Right now I need a decision fight. I need it. Maybe Martin is the best opponent and challenge of my career. And maybe he's the best opponent for a decision fight because he is smart and not an easy opponent. He is a good fighter, he is strong and a big guy,” Golovkin told ESPN.
In the interview, Golovkin said that he wanted to unify the middleweight titles. “This is my focus: Who is No. 1? Right now I have WBC interim (title). The next fight I want to be fighting who? Miguel Cotto, he is the regular WBC champion. I want the WBC belt, and of course WBO or IBF. I want all the belts,” he said.
