8 people injured in explosion at Semey factory

There was an explosion at Semey flour factory's bin block on May 14. 8 workers were injured, and 6 of them were taken to the hospital with fractures and burns. Four of them were in a very grave condition with burns ranging from 10 to 70% of their bodies. One of them died in the hospital after several days. According to preliminary conclusions, the gas-air mixture of wheat dust and remains of wheat inside the bin exploded when the workers started cutting into the metal bottom of the bin block.
