Windstorm uproots tree, kills zookeeper in Shymkent
22 m/s wind with 28 m/s gusts ripped off roofs, uprooted trees and killed a person in Kazakhstan's southern city of Shymkent on May 12.
The tragic accident happened at 8 in the morning. The 52-y.o. zookeeper was about her usual morning duties tending the Zoo's predators when the wind unexpectedly fell a tree killing her on the spot.
According to the Director of Shymkent Zoo Seidulla Zhubayev, the deceased woman - Gulnazym Tulenova - had a husband and three kids. She had worked in the Zoo for 25 years.
