In Petropavlovsk, military engineers have neutralized a bomb made in 1939, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the Interior Department of Northern Kazakhstan Oblast. The neutralization was performed at the military base No. 6637. The mine was discovered in one of the streets of Rabochiy Poselok region of Petropavlovsk city by a passerby on August 15. "Engineers arrived to the site. The street was cordoned and residents of nearby houses were temporary evacuated by Interior Department's officers. The finding was placed in a special box for explosive items. It was decided to liquidate the bomb," the press-service said. According to the law-enforcement authorities the elimination procedure was made in the morning on August 16. This is the second recent case of a missile discovery in the region, according to the police reports. The first time a mortar bomb remaining from the Civil War period was found in a village of Senzhak Zhambyl region in July 2013.
