According to the architect, this will help neutralize the disadvantages of the sharply continental climate. The architect believes that construction of this dome will fully solve the problem of cold and attract millions of tourists to Astana. “Such dome can work as a giant greenhouse,” the architect said. “Construction of the dome with a diameter of 1.5-2 km will allow to cover almost all major buildings of the left bank of Astana. Astana could become a blossoming garden with the average temperature of 20 degrees Centigrade.” According to Nevelichko, construction of the dome would cost $1 billion. A similar project was suggested in American Houston. The dome is aimed to save the city from hurricanes and heat. This will be a huge dome made of fluoro-plastic. It will be 0.5 km high and will have a diameter of 1.5 km. The suggestion is that it will cover the downtown, green areas and elite housing in Houston.
