Zulfiya Chinshanlo - an ethnic Chinese whose Chinese name is Zhao Changling - has already regained her Chinese citizenship and received a second-generation resident ID in her native province Hunan (Central China), Chinese media wrote. However, Secretary General of Kazakhstan Weightlifting Federation Mendykhan Tapsir refuted the rumor that the Olympic gold-winners Zulfiya Chinshanlo and Maya Maneza were leaving Kazakhstan national team. “Chinshanlo and Maneza left to China for vacation. It is impossible that they will represent China. We still count on them at world’s major tournaments. We will try to find out where the Chinese media got this wrong information from,” Tapsir said.
