Zulfiya Chinshanlo - an ethnic Chinese whose Chinese name is Zhao Changling - has already regained her Chinese citizenship and received a second-generation resident ID in her native province Hunan (Central China), China Daily whites. Chinshanlo will now train with a famous Chinese coach Zhou Jihong as her 5-year contract with Kazakhstan team expired last month. The weightlifter is expected to represent her province at the Chinese National Games and then will start preparing for the 2016 Olympcs. Earlier Secretary General of Kazakhstan Weightlifting Federation Mendykhan Tapsir refuted the rumor that the Olympic gold-winners Zulfiya Chinshanlo and Maya Maneza were leaving Kazakhstan national team. “Chinshanlo and Maneza left to China for vacation. It is impossible that they will represent China. We still count on them at world’s major tournaments. We are in touch with Chinshanlo and Maya Maneza has promised to contact us soon. We will try to find out where the Chinese media got this wrong information from. I stress once again that Chinshanlo and Maneza will keep representing our Kazakhstan,” Tapsir said.
