South Kazakhstan oblast wrestler Yermek Bayduashev has qualified for the 2012 London Olympic Games in free-style wrestling, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan Wrestling Federation press-service. Tajikistan Salim Khodjayev, 84-kilogram weight league wrestler, was the first Bayduashev’s rival in the first round of the qualification tournament. Then Kazakhstan wrestler fought against Slovakian Rene Matezhov and Belorussian Soslan Gatsiyev in the quarterfinal. However he yielded the victory to Belorussian wrestler with the score of 0:3, 4:1, 0:1. “Only two finalists can usually gain the Olympic spots in the Continental qualifying tournaments. However in this Taiwanese tournament three wrestlers from each weight league are able to qualify for the Olympics. That’s why in spite of the fact that Soslan Gatsiyev reached the final, Bayduashev still had a chance to gain the spot,” the Federation’s press-release said. As a result Bayduashev won over Canadian Jeffry Adamson with the score of 1:0, 2:0. 4:0 and Chinese Riguleng Si 7:0, 5:1 and became the bronze winner of the tournament. After that he defeated Greek Emzarios Bentenidis.
