Water Polo: Kazakhstan team made it into the finals of Asian Championship

Kazakhstan men’s water polo team won over Singapore in the finals and over Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals of Asian Swimming Championship, Vesti.kz reports. The team, coached by Sergey Drozdov, won convincingly with a score of 16:4 against Singapore in the semifinals and 14:4 against Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals. No one expected Singapore to reach the finals, but the team surprised everyone by winning over Thailand. The Thailand team played flabbily and yielded the victory to Singapore. Japan played against China in the semifinals. Both teams defeated their rivals in the quarterfinals matches. There has been some aggressive playing from both sides and their fight for getting into the final yesterday was tough and resulted in a tight score of 9:8 with China's victory. The Chinese team was leading the score for most of the match and in spite of all the efforts of the Japanese team and their massive assault in the end of the match the Chinese manged to hold on to their lead till the very end. Now the Chinese team is set to play against Kazakhstan. What's peculiar this year is that both Kazakhstan men's and women's water polo teams are competing for gold in the finals against China. Kazakhstan-China women's teams will play first to day, Kazakhstan-China men's teams competitions will follow shortly after. 9th Asian Swimming Championship. Dubai, water polo.
