Vinokourov to take part in Turkey Tour marathon cycling race

Alexandre Vinokourov, prominent cyclist from Kazakhstan Astana cycling team, will take part in Turkey Tour marathon cycling race, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Sportinfo.kz. This race will be held on April 22-29. Vinokourov rode as part of Astana team on March 20-24 in Italian Coppi e Bartali race. Kazakhstan cyclist came 74th. However initially he didn't plan to compete for the first places and said he would concentrate on helping his teammates during the race. Estonian Tanel Kangert came 21st and became the best Astana cyclist according to the results of the competition. Vinokourov has repeatedly said that the current season would become the last in his career. The 38-y.o. cyclist was going to retire last year. However after he had fallen during one of Tour de France stages he postponed his retirement and managed to recover. Vinokourov decided not to take part in London Olympic Games. He promised to retire straight after Tour de France this year.
