Three Kazakhstan tennis professionals have reached the second round of the 2013 US Open tournament in New York, Vesti.kz reports. 25-y.o. Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan prevailed over 23-y.o. Slovenian Andrej Martin in the first round match with the score of 6:4, 7:6(2), 7:5. Kazakhstan's Galina Voskoboeva, 28, won over Romanian Monica Niculescu with the score of 6:4, 6:3. And Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan gained victory in the match against Russian Olga Puchkova with the score of 6:1, 6:0. The 2013 US Open is a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 133rd edition of the US Open and the final fourth Grand Slam event of the year. It is currently taking place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and runs from August 26 to September 9. The prize pool of the tournament is more than $16 million.
