Tennis: Kukushkin gains 34 lines in ATP ranking

Kazakhstan’s tennis professional Mikhail Kukushkin has gained 34 lines in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) thanks to his success at the tournament in Marocco, Vesti.kz reports. The 25-y.o. tennis player reached the finals of the ATP Challenger in Marocco. Playing against Pablo Carreno Kukushkin lost the first set 2:6 and withdrew from the second set when the score was 4:1 in the Spaniard's favor. However, this result let the Kazakhstan player to move up from the 225th line to the 191th line in the world ranking. Other Kazakhstan tennis professionals Andrey Golubev and Yevgeny Korolev retained their 172th and 175th positions accordingly. Yuri Schukin and Denis Yevseyev moved down two lines each and now they are ranked 496th and 583th. There were no changes in the top ten of the ATP ranking. Serbian Novak Djokovic is still the leader of the ranking, then goes British Andy Murray followed by Roger Federer from Switzerland.
