Sabina Altynbekova and Denis Ten join Almaty-2022 committee for IOC meeting 30 июля 2015, 17:19

Kazakhstani volleyball player Sabina Altynbekova and the bronze medalist of the Sochi Olympics Denis Ten are joining the distinguished Kazakhstani athletes representing Almaty’s bid for the Winter Olympic Games in 2022.

Kazakhstani volleyball player Sabina Altynbekova and the bronze medalist figure skater of the Sochi Olympics Denis Ten are joining distinguished Kazakhstani athletes to represent Almaty’s bid for the Winter Olympic Games in 2022, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

The meeting of the International Olympic Committee is taking place in Kuala Lumpur on July 31. The host city for the Winter Olympics in 2022 will be announced at the meeting of the IOC. Currently, Almaty and Beijing are bidding to host the Olympic Games.

The Almaty-2022 organizational committee is represented by Boxing Olympic Champions Serik Sapiev and Yermakhan Ibraimov, World Champion in Speed Skating Denis Kuzin, Silver Medalist of Vancouver Olympics in Biathlon Yelena Khrustaleva and World Champion in Mogul Yuliya Galysheva. Sabina Altynbekova and Denis Ten will be joining the notorious team. 

The IOC meeting is going to be broadcast live at 3:00pm Astana time on July 31, at the screen on Abay Square in front of the Republic Palace (crossing of Abay and Dostyk streets) in Almaty.
