Denis Bakhtov, a Kazakhstan-born Russian super heavyweight boxer plans to return to squared ring in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Sportbox.ru. “I would like to fight in February in Moscow or in Kazakhstan. I will know it for sure after the meeting with my promoter in the nearest future. I think it will be a fight against an average international boxer. It is because of hand surgery I have had recently,” Bakhtov said. Russian boxer fought against Ukrainian Alexandre Ustinov on October 22 in his last match. He lost that match on points. However, Bakhtov have been sparring while having an injury. “I have suffered an injury earlier. My elbow was aching. I underwent a surgery a few weeks prior to New Year holiday. Truly, it was an equal fight. But to gain the victory over Ustinov I should have won by a knock down or a technical knockout. It is not possible to win over the champion in an equal fight,” super heavyweight said. Bakhtov was born in Karaganda in 1979. Shortly after he failed to enter Kazakhstan national boxing team that competed in 2000 Olympic Games he moved to Saint-Petersburg and changed his citizenship. His professional career includes 40 fights, with 33 victories and 23 knockouts.
