Podobedova one step away from gold in World Weight Lifting Championship

Kazakhstan weight-lifter Svetlana Podobedova won a silver medal in the World Championship in Paris, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the official website of the event. Svetlana yielded the victory to Russian Nadezhda Evstyukhina in 75 kg weight league by lifting 287 kg. Korean Kim Yong Joo won the bronze medal. It is worth noting that Podobedova showed the best result by lifting 131 kilograms in snatch. She tried to beat her own record of 134 kilograms in the final attempt, but failed. Evstyukhina, who was Podobedova's main rival performed masterfully and showed her record result of 163 kilograms in the third attempt. Podobedova failed to lift this weight. One more Kazakhstan weight lifter Anna Nurmukhambetova became seventh in the overall ranking of the Championship. Podobedova is a two-time world champion, she won gold medals in 2009 and 2010. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that Kazakhstan weight lifter Maya Maneza also won a silver medal, yielding the victory to Russian Svetlana Tsarukaeva. Zulfiya Chinshanlo won the only gold medal for Kazakhstan at the event so far. The World Championship will finish on November 13.
