Kazakhstan boxers won three gold medals in the Olympics qualifying tournament that was held in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports. Kazakhstan Birzhan Zhakipov, 49-kilogram weight league boxer, overcame Japanese Naoyi Inoue with the score of 16:11 in the first final match. Only the winner in this weight league qualified for the London Olympic Games. Ilyas Suleymenov, 52-kilogram weight league boxer, who had qualified for the Olympics prior to the final of the tournament, won over Mongolian Tugstsogt Nyambayar with athe score of 18:14 in the decisive match. Daniyar Yeleussinov, 64-kilogram weight league boxer, brought one more gold medal to Kazakhstan after his rival Serdar Kudayberdiyev of Turkmenistan failed to appear at the ring. Four boxers represented Kazakhstan in this tournament. Vassiliy Levit was the only fighter who didn’t manage to gain an Olympic spot. He yielded the victory to Syrian Mohammad Ghossoun with the score of 9:15 in the semifinal match of the Championship. Kazakhstan boxing team will compete in nine out of ten weight leagues in the London Olympic Games.
