Kazakhstan boxing team Astana Arlans won over Indian Mumbai Fighters boxers during the WSB (World Series of Boxing) regular season tournament that was held on February 17 in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports. The fight ended with a score of 4:1 in favour of the Astana Arlans. Kazakhstan boxer Mirzhan Rakhimzhanov and Ukrainian legionnaire Ivan Ilnitskiy who fights for the Indian team, both 54 kilograms weight league boxers, started the tounrnament. Rakhimzhanov gripped the lead and maintained it during five rounds, but Ilnitskiy didn't allow him to relax by counterattacking the boxer all the time. Judges awarded the victory to Kazakhstan boxer. Samat Bashenov, Astana-Arlans fighter, and Filipino legionnaire Charlie Suarez, both 61 kilograms weight league boxers, fought second in the tournament. The Indian sportsman led in the first round. But the Kazakhstan boxer made a successful attack in the fourth round. Judges preferred Bashenov. The next fight was between 73 kilograms weight league boxers. Israel legionnaire Konstantin Snigour who fought for Mumbai Fighters managed to win over Kazakhstan Rustam Svayev. Algerian legionnaire Abdelhafid Benchabla who is a part of Kazakhstan team and Indian Rakhul Kumar fought in 85 kilograms weight league. Benchabla won by a technical knockout in the third round. Bouloudinat Chouaib, another Algerian legionnaire who fought for Kazakhstan team, won over Moldovian Mikhail Muntin in the final super heavyweight match of the tournament as well.
