Almaty is hosting the 10th Junior Tennis Tournament Fidelity Open 2012, Vesti.kz reports. According to the organizers, prize money pool of the noncommercial contest makes 500 thousand tenge ($3350). Originally the tournament was held twice a year, but this year it was the decided to combine both contests in one tournament and hold it in summer, instead of making two tournaments in spring and autumn. Participants of the tournament are children aged from 6 to 12. The championship is assigned the third category, meaning that all the tennis players of the tournament can win points for their Kazakhstan rating. The championship will be held for four days. Tennis veterans Igor Ternovskikh and Sergei Dyachenko took part in the opening ceremony of the tournament. "You are very lucky to participate in such a great tournament. You should use this opportunity to improve your skills and to dive into the competition atmosphere which means much to every sportsman. Learning from it is important for growing into a professional sportsman," Ternovskih said. Fitness club Fidelity, organizer of the tournament, prepared a big celebratory cake for children in the end of the first day of the competition.
