Opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympics: where to watch in Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz – Tonight, on the night of 6 to 7 February, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games will take place in Italy.

The opening ceremony will be held in an unconventional format and organized simultaneously at several venues. The main arena of the celebration will be the famous San Siro football stadium in Milan.

Festive events will also unfold in the Olympic zones located in different regions of northern Italy.

The Olympic flame will be lit not only in Milan, but also in Cortina d’Ampezzo, one of the key competition centers.

Opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympics: where to watch?

The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on the TV channels Qazsport and Qazaqstan, as well as on their official websites. The start is scheduled for 11:55 PM Kazakhstan time.

The competitions themselves will take place at several locations — in Milan and in the mountain cluster.

Kazakhstan’s national team at the Games will be represented by 36 athletes competing in ten disciplines.

The team is evenly split between men and women — 18 athletes of each. The honor of carrying the national flag at the opening ceremony was given to short-track skater Denis Nikisha and freestyle skier Ayaulym Amrenova, who specializes in moguls.
